Enhance Your Artistic Skills at These Wilmington Art Schools

Art classes offer a fun way to relieve stress while enhancing your creative skills. Whether you would like to draw or try your hand at pottery, several Wilmington art schools welcome all abilities. The schools near our Wilmington apartments include: 


What was once the thriving Block Shirt Factory is now the home of theArtWorks. It boasts over 50 artist studios as well as a gallery where the community can purchase fabulous works of art. In addition, several of the artists teach out of their studios. On Thursdays between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., don’t miss Photorealistic Colored Pencil with Glenn Davis. Offered open-studio style, these exciting sessions teach the advantages of creating fine art with colored pencils. Class sizes are small, and Glenn provides plenty of individual help.

Museum School at Cameron Art Museum

At the Museum School, teaching artists and the museum’s staff lead sessions ranging from beginner to master classes. Depending on the course, you may enjoy perks like instructor-guided access to the exhibits as well as seeing objects not currently on view. The museum offers a range of virtual classes students can try from home. In addition, it also offers in-person lessons, including outdoor photography and plein air painting. 

Fat Cat Pottery 

Fat Cat Pottery is where Mary Holden-Hall and her team help everyone with their pottery needs. Mary has spent over 50 years making and enjoying pottery. She is known for her slab and wheel work and has made some beautiful fountains. Classes include Beginners Hand Building, All Techniques, and Throwing on the Wheel. Pre-registration is required.
